Game, Set and Match for India

The Indian Colts have done it! They have beaten the Aussies on their home turf twice consecutively over a period of three days. So winning the second final (which was played at Brisbane) means India has won the Commonwealth Bank tri-nation One Day International series. The third final which was to be played at Adelaide is now redundant. So it is celebration time folks!

The foundations of Indian innings were laid by the opening pair of Sachin Tendulkar (91) and Robin Utthappa (30). It was an innings of a life time coming from the bat of Sachin. The others also chipped in pushing the Indian total to 258(9).

In reply, the Australian had a really bad start with the first wicket falling in the first over itself (bowled by young Praveen Kumar) in the form of Adam Gilchrist. Ponting departed shortly when the score was just 8 runs, in an over that was again bowled by Praveen Kumar. Praveen went on to take 4 wickets. Exceptional bowling performance by Praveen. Ishant Sharma was not playing due to injury. Pathan and Sreesanth taking two wickets each, with Pathan taking the last two wickets in the ultimate over.

Double Sundae on Sunday

What a fantastic day! We have won the Under-19 World Cup Cricket Tournament at Kuala Lumpur and the first final of the three-nations one-day series against Australia at Sydney.
The Sydney match was a low-scoring match. Sachin Tendulkar has made his maiden century in One Day Internationals in Australia. Bating first, Australia lost three wickets in quick succession, then Hayden and Symonds tried to steady the innings but both were dismissed by Harbhajan. Poetic justice, that's what it was. Hayden made a brilliant 82. The Aussies were bundled out for a measly 239.
In reply Indian innings was bolstered by a scintillating 117 * by Sachin and a brilliant 66 by young Rohit Sharma. India made the requisite number of runs, losing only 4 wickets in the process.
