What a fantastic day! We have won the Under-19 World Cup Cricket Tournament at Kuala Lumpur and the first final of the three-nations one-day series against Australia at Sydney.
The Sydney match was a low-scoring match. Sachin Tendulkar has made his maiden century in One Day Internationals in Australia. Bating first, Australia lost three wickets in quick succession, then Hayden and Symonds tried to steady the innings but both were dismissed by Harbhajan. Poetic justice, that's what it was. Hayden made a brilliant 82. The Aussies were bundled out for a measly 239.
In reply Indian innings was bolstered by a scintillating 117 * by Sachin and a brilliant 66 by young Rohit Sharma. India made the requisite number of runs, losing only 4 wickets in the process.
