Congress routed in Punjab and Uttarakhand



Counting was completed for the recently concluded Assembly elections in the states of Punjab, Uttarakhand and Manipur, today.

Congress received a proper drubbing in Punjab and Uttarakhand.

In Punjab the Shiromani Akali Dal - Bharatiya Janata Party combine emerged victorious. Capt. Amrinder Singh submitted his resignation to the Governor.

Even in Uttarakhand, B. J. P., proved to be the nemesis for the Congress. Narayan Dutt Tiwari's government fell to corruption charges.

In Manipur however, Congress is leading.
There is all-round jubiliation in the B. J. P. camp. It hopes to do well in the forthcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh and Goa.
